A few months ago I received an email from our local conservation district about a healthy soils workshop that they were hosting. It was an interesting enough topic that I looked through the agenda. When I saw that the agenda included a short session titled “An Introduction to Permaculture”, I decided that I’d take a vacation day from work and attend the workshop. It turned out to be a great move. Cynthia Rabinowitz gave the permaculture presentation. Speaking with her afterwards, she mentioned that she was looking to start a local permaculture group and asked if I’d be interested. Of course I was. We’ve now had two meetings of just over a dozen people filled with energy and enthusiasm.
